The 2018 Textron Off Road Havoc X made its semi-public debut at the 2017 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center and they gave me a ride in one.

UTVs and Side-by-Sides are a great way to start out in off-road if you’re looking for something dedicated beyond your personal vehicle(s). Textron Off-Road, formally known as Artic Cat, has created an interesting mix of utility and performance Side-by-Side with the Havoc X. It’s got the party going on with the factory stock King Racing Off-Road Shocks but the business with a dump bed in the back and a Warn 4,000-lb winch up front for those looking to do work. It’s both work and play, but how does it ride? Textron gave me a ride with one of their professional drivers on a small course just outside the SEMA Show that featured a jump, rock section, and two curves. Here are some more of the details of the Havoc X:

– 100-HP/67-Ft/Lb Torque EFI N/A SOHC 957cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine
– 12.8-inch Front, 12.9-inch Rear Suspension Travel
– King 2.5-inch Piggyback Shocks
– On-Demand AWD
– Standard Electronic Power Steering
– Standard Full Doors

– Front & Rear Sway Bars
– 24-cu.-ft. of Storage with Extended Cab
– 2,000-lb Towing and a 600-lb Capacity Tilt Bed
– Four-Wheel Disc Brakes with 9.5-inch Rotors
– Two-Tone Bucket Seats
– Standard 4,000-lb WARN Winch
– Fast-N-Latch™ Bed Storage System
– 14-in. Cast Aluminum Wheels
